photos from the summertime--
freelance prototype development for PIMA DOLL's
S/S collection, to be produced in Peru.
racer back webby tank with asymmetrical hem and fringe |
knit in cut jersey (prototype quality) with a mix of different stitches
(dropped stitches, looped stitches, knit, purls, slits and holes)
all pieces were knit in the round in an organic, spontaneous method,
based upon specs and inspiration photos.
knit webby racer back dress with asymmetrical hem
and fringe detail | knit in cut jersey in varying stitches
same organic, beachy vibe as the tank | knit in the round spontaneously
ends unhidden around the neckline | these photos were
sent as updates to the designers, Arturo and Ashley, as I
finished up pieces.
irregular engineered rib knit in chunky cut jersey yarn |
cropped 90s grungy shape with a high neckline
tie-dye cut rib fabric knit in webby stitch |
braided-tie neckline on front pulled through two holes in racer back
piece to by tied in a knot and adjusted as you'd like
straight hemline on this piece, carrying that beachy, mermaid idea.
I ended up adding much length to the braided ties so that they
hung down about 6" above the hem.
fringe webby-base vest in cut jersey |
sample knit all in one piece, with differing hem points from
back to front achieved by short rowing.
I added even more fringe afterwards down the center front,
hem, and in sections down the back as well
all pieces were then knit in pima cotton cut jersey and rib
lots of movement!
