Now that the temp. has been cooling down a bit lately,

and time has almost come for the Fall season to swing around again,

of course, I've been day dreaming about this Comme Des Garcons collection from

2009. -- One of my favorites, & since I've seen it, I feel subconsciously I gather pieces

that fit into this "look" each year. & now I feel I'm close to ready to

layer to this magnitude... still can't wait to hit the thrift stores for new Fall

pieces though :)

& there we have it. Btw, you may have noticed the blog is taking a bit of a

vacation from the usual back & forth knit-focused stuff between Dani & I.

Busy is the time now-a-days, but I'm sure we'll get back into it when the

new season dawns. Anyhow, the direction has turned into my thoughts & things

that inspire me daily, & in my head relate always back to knitwear & craft.

So, hope ya don't mind too much ;)

it's no question what reminded me of this sweater and literally had me searching back for where i had seen it before! that's right... Missoni Fall 2o11, below!

i have been a fan of the Beckerman sisters for over 5 years now. when i was in high school, my mom showed me an article in Flare Magazine (Canada's own fashion mag) about these girls, and their success with their own line, Beckerman, since graduating from FIT. needless to say, these three Canadian sisters were a huge inspiration to me... and a lot to do with me even considering studying at FIT as an option.

i had the pleasure of meeting the three of them at one of their sample sales in NY a few years back, but they've actually put a hold on their line for the moment and are working on other projects right now such as some things with Teen Vogue, and also their amazing blog, Beckerman Bite Plate. here, the girls (and their mom and dad oftentimes!) post almost daily about what they're wearing and most importantly, how their wearing it. while a vast numer of items they wear are designer, and totally unaffordable, they are also STELLAR thrifters! one of the three of them actually studied knitwear design at FIT so they have a keen eye for sweaters as they understand the craft!
